Thaddeus Howze.

To highlight every word here would be overkill. And probably annoying to readers as you’ve nailed the description of the proverbial elephant in the room. Believe it or not, your insights and observations are not wasted. I say this with abject adoration and unadulterated respect, you’re one of those writers who truly inspires me to keep going on. You get it and it’s obvious the way you peel off the shiny veneer the Powers That Be would have us covet, to reveal all that lies beneath in all its squalor.

As a black man in America, the reality of shrinking opportunities is something I deal with EVERY DAY. Few lay an assessment as adroitly as you.

You once told me, all of us can’t do what you do. Well, sir, I turn the phrase back at you with a slight modification: none of us can do what you do. Do what you need to to take care of your family and yourself, but please … do not give up. For you are a light in these dark times.

(Okay, I’m writing for purely selfish reasons. “I” still have so many lessons to learn from you.)
