Ré, this is perfect and brilliant and exactly what I needed. I’m working on my book and I got to a spot where I was stuck. And it kind of dawned on me that I might have been telling and not showing all the way through seventy percent of the book. Not good. It’s like I felt I was juggling one ball and the wrong ball at that as opposed to keeping several balls in the air (revealing character, moving the plot along, involving the reader, blah, blah, blah).
So I figured I see how the First Lady of Literary Multitasking does it. This was the FIRST piece of yours I landed on and it’s wonderful. You are rocked the setting, the tone, the element of surprise — it’s ALL there!
Thanks for teaching by example.
(You wouldn’t happen to be interested in re-writing my book, would you?) 😉
