Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! This piece is a prime example of what I love about your writing. Whether in that previous late night fuzzy phase or now with a renewed clarity of mind, you aren’t afraid to plumb deep waters.
Going into the basement to examine unresolved issues, owning choices, and choosing to move forward in a different and positive direction is terrifying. Trust me, I know. I am the child of a father who was an alcoholic and I suffered with depression for years. Looking at the world through a clearer set of lenses can be exhausting, but it’s so enriching. You can’t even begin to imagine the benefits that await you.
The physical benefits are only the beginning! [grinning from ear to ear here]
I knew there was more going in your life, but I didn’t know what, and I was waiting for you to tackle it. I knew you would in your own time because that’s the type of woman you’ve shown yourself to be. That’s not to say that you were being superficial previously. You weren’t in the least. We’re all engaged in battles others are completely unaware of. But you, my dear, have that rare kind of strength and courage to lay it all out there. The good and the bad. You call it the way you see, not just with others, but yourself as well. That’s character. If I were in L.A. right now I’d give you a big ol’ hug and drag you out for a meal somewhere.
Personally, I CAN’T WAIT to read your new stuff!!
I’m so happy and proud of you! Truly!
Gonna do the guy thing now … if I might offer a word of advice (wrapped in encouragement) take it one day at a time, stay focused, and don’t be too tough on yourself (there’s a whole lot of other people out there waiting to do that). You’re doing phenomenal work, just don’t rush the process. You’re AMAZING!!!
God bless you and may everything you put your hand to succeed.
