Meg, my second book was about a friend who died of lung cancer. His wife (who went through two bouts of cancer herself) gave me his last three years of blog posts as the backbone for the story. I added in the POVs of his wife, his son and daughter, his siblings, a few very close friends, and two doctors. The result was what I’d call a 360° view of cancer and how it affect their family.
I mention that not to toot my own horn, but to let you know that even as a guy, I get it: cancer is hell. You stir up the same emotions in me that my friends did when they recounted their journey.
You’ve more that earned my utmost respect for making it through your battle with cancer and then sharing that journey with such candor and grace.
You’re an amazing woman with an incredible gift for writing.
Thank you so very much for sharing and bringing awareness to breast cancer.
