First. There’s no need at all to apologize. You did what I encourage people to do: be real, own your feelings, and not keep them under lock and key. So you have not a thing to apologize for. NOT. ONE. THING.

I’m all too familiar with depression, and I took NO offense to what you said. If anything, I felt empathy for you because I understood what it’s like to be in a similar place. I wrote you that note because I wanted to let you know I wanted to take some time and give thought to my reply and not just bang out some quicky, half-baked reply. I wanted to give you a reply worth of your time.

I doubt anyone sees you as fragile, least of all me. My hope is that I’m not coming on too hard to everyone with the unsolicited advice. The way I see it, Ré, we’re all trying to figure life out as we go along by shaving off callouses where need be and growing thicker skin in other places.

It takes certain kind of strength to share where you are. That’s something I’m still working on. So I’m learning from you guys.
