This has been an amazing week. First of all, thanks to Tremaine L. Loadholt and Ayesha Talib Wissanji for coming up with such a fantastic idea. And everyone who participated.
Yesterday was an especially bad day for me. I’ll leave it an unnecessary family drama. I missed my candle lighting time and frankly I was so drained that I completely forgot about lighting my candle until much, much too late. But scrolling through Medium and seeing so many candles lit and reading the stories and poetry warmed me through and through. You guys are amazing, so very, very amazing.
There are probably countless people out there who had no idea what was going on until they started reading and no doubt I’m certain you helped them, just like me. Somehow I’m sure this isn’t the end, but only the beginning.
Thanks for being that living symbols of hope in a sometimes very dark world.
