Lecia, you broke me with this essay. You broke me wide open. You’ve expressed thoughts that I can relate to simply by being black, You’ve also expressed thoughts that as a man never occurred to me. In reading this, female family members, black women I have known and know; friends, acquaintances, and black women in all walks of life. Thank you for giving this nuanced point of view that helps broaden my view of the challenges my sisters face. Know that I see you, I hear you, I love you, and all my black sisters in all your radiant splendor.
