Ken, thanks for joining the conversation. I’m interested to hear about your experience of being in the majority tribe. I can understand how human instinct tends to be the default setting for most people, but I’m an optimistic realist in thinking that people can learn to “recalibrate” themselves to different settings. I know too many people who have done just that. It’s rarely an overnight process, but recalibration can happen.

And that’s part of the reason I presented this article using an innocuous example that anyone could see themselves in the position of being marginalized. For those who don’t mean harm and want to change, this should help them widen their point of view.
