Kay, this was wonderful! And makes perfect sense. For some reason, it’s easier for me to practice these principles with adults, although it seems only natural that the same or similar rules apply when dealing with kids.

I’ve a long history of not so much enjoying the company of kids. Maybe it’s their ability to cut through BS … that’s not to say that I sling any their way, but what a woeful person to be to have kids call you out for that. Ha.

Maybe it’s really all about their not fully developed reasoning skills is what throws me. Adults I can reason with. In any event, what you’ve laid out here encourages me that a lot of the same rules apply, they simply have to be applied more slowly and in earnest.
