Jim, people could be doing a lot more, but like I said it’s been a gradual downhill slide. We’ve cozied up to bad behavior for so long that getting to this point should surprise no anyone. We glorify bad behavior … take a look at reality TV. The vast majority of those shows are all about treating others badly and then getting rewarded for it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no puritan by any means.

A group of teens watched a man drown and recorded their taunts on a cell phone. And they won’t be convicted because there’s no Good Samaritan laws on the books (like in France). It should be a crime to not help your neighbor.

But I digress …
