Jack, I know I say this a lot but I mean it, the pleasure is all mine.

I hear you about being careful with your topics. It’s funny how Providence can step in and show you what and where you’re needed. With me, it’s not that I have a burning desire to talk about race as much as I have a passion for appreciating people’s differences and a desire to help people discover their own self-worth and that of others.

Sounds like you have a rich family/background! That’s so fantastic!! If you’re not at the point where you want to write about that—yet, that’s cool. Who knows? If you get there and decide you want to share those stories, I guarantee two things, 1) there’ll be other people with similar experiences looking for validation and wondering if they’re “the only ones,” and there’ll be people who will benefit from hearing your stories from your point of view. And if not, that’s cool, too. You’re going to discover what to write. I have no doubt … and you’ll be good at it.

This quote from Catherine of Siena came to mind while reading your response —

Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.

Ciao for now,
Clay.
