It’s good to know that there are people out there who have no problem calling others out on their stuff. I honestly believe it’s not so much a matter of people not having a conscience when it comes to ignoring the rights of People of Color or immigrants. I’m convinced the behavior is learned and rooted in insecurity. And consistently stepping on the rights of anyone is a conscious choice. Yeah, who hasn’t been so engrossed in their own matters at any given moment that they’ve inadvertently committed a social faux pas. But what we’re talking about is something totally different … the volitional decision to put one’s own rights, conveniences, predilections, et al not just ahead of someone else, but at the expense of someone else.
