- I’m thankful to be around this Christmas. No, I’m suffering from some life-threatening illness, but I know a dozen—yes, I said a dozen—people who are battling for their lives with cancer or some other insidious disease.
- I’m thankful that my half-sister joined us for Christmas this year. It was the first time ever due to circumstances beyond her control. Having someone who’s not normally around in the mix is refreshing.
- I’m thankful that my mother, at 84 years of age, is still in her right mind, physically active, and that our relationship is good. I see what others my age are going through now—losing parents to death or watching an debilitating illness slowly end their lives … yeah, I’m grateful everyday.
I think that’s enough for now.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
