Ezinne, wow … you left it all on the table here. You touched something deep within me that I’m still coming to terms with: why I write about racism. And you’re helping me better understand the importance of telling our stories. Thank you.

I learned a hard lesson a while back: to only write about what I am passionate about. I admire the unabashed way you put it all out there for the world to read without a hint of remorse or self-doubt. Me? I try to strip the overt emotion from my writing and lead people via a stoic train of thought that first penetrates the brain and then secretly trickles into the heart.

But you … BAM! From the word “go,” you let us have it. You hit your readers square in the jaw from the first letter of your headline and you don’t let up till you ring the final bell with your last full stop.

I love it.
