Ease up.

The comparison is not between the Bible and a stop sign. The comparison is between PEOPLE who choose to ignore a stop sign and PEOPLE who choose to ignore the Bible.

I’m going to take this one step further.

You mentioned the hypocritical behavior of some people who read the Bible and I compared the disregard of someone who runs a stop sign. See what I’m doing there? One’s ignoring the one, then there’s the other who’s ignoring something else. But in both cases, the Bible is still the Bible, and the stop sign is still the stop sign.

The ill actions of some Christians and those who choose to turn a blind eye to a stop sign in no way diminish the validity, purpose, or stature of the Bible (the one who inspired its writing) or the stop sign (the laws that the sign represents).
