Chris, I just want to add a little something here …

t.j. peters, I have to applaud you in your transparency. The comments from Dr Katherine Phelps and Chris are great go-to’s.

Hate, whether directed outward or inward is destructive. The next steps for you? I suggest not waiting for someone else to change the narrative. Change is knocking at your door. Although it’s been months since you wrote your essay, consider what to do with this realization of how things really are and your awareness of your reactions.

I write about race. A lot, but in a way that I think is non-threatening or abrasive. You might find something that might be of service to you here, here, and here.

[wincing that I’m actually doing this next part but, hear me out]

Your limerick makes a great point, but it could use a tiny tweak so that the point in abundantly clear and in proper limerick meter (which is traditionally 7, 7, 5, 5, 7) —

On how he’d deftly discard
The way he appears
When he looks in mirrors
Like a poor Alex Skarsgård

Thanks for the transparency.
